Two Oceans

Well - it was wet! But what a Satori turnout - well done to all half and ultra runners. Luvoyo was our star - finishing the ultra in 3:58:06 and Tracy Baxter now has her permanent ultra number!

And of course - our other stars were Andrea and Alex - what a wonderful team - including solid support from Paulline all the way - well done - this is an achievement to be proud of.

Steve Sharwood completed his first half - and looked as though he could have gone and done it all over again - now you are a real runner, Steve! Congratulations!

Thanks to Katrina and Mark who provided wonderful eats and coffee and tea at the end - really welcome in the rain and cold. And to the support team in general - there is nothing quite like running down the finishing straight with everyone shouting for you.

Argus Cycle Tour 2012

Well done to all the intrepid Satori warriors (and their hangers on) who braved the Argus Cycle Tour on what must have been one of the hottest days of the year.

I have tried to look for everyone's results, but all the results sites are down - obviously completely overloaded.

We had a huge Satori turnout: Lynne, Mark and Richard Tolsma, Justin Crowhurst, Lynn Christian, Scott and Bianca Tait, Craig Farham, Jeremy van Zyl, Charissa and Graeme Balman, Paulline Chambers, Richard Jones, Beryl Maccutcheon, Michelle (and Ross?) Macgregor, John Kendal and Roland and Lindi Croxford.

We are supposed to be a running club, guys!

Constantia Village 15km

Three Satorians ran the Constantia Village 15km - if there were more of you apologies, Bridget Farham, Becky Jones and Jacqui Loydell.

It was a much cooler day than Sunday and we had a great time.

The Saturday/Sunday runs will be increasing in distance from 15 km in January leading up to The Two Oceans Marathon, with lovely long runs up to 40 km towards the end of our training. I am looking forward to sharing the hours on the road with you.

Very important please note that the morning runs start at 06h00 during the first term of 2012.

For the Love of It

SAVE THE DATE: 26 FEBRUARY 2012

Sunday morning the 26th of February will see the first ever running of the Satori Peak Challenge. Running up Chappies is a favourite pastime of many a Satori runner and so we decided to launch an official challenge.

There will be numerous prizes and not just for the fast guys and perhaps even a double distance challenge for those really fit folk.
The distance is 10km up and down followed by breakfast at Café Roux.

Watch this space for details.

Help is needed to finish the club house

Those of you who are regulars at time trial are well aware of the building renovations that have been taking place. Our club house has been greatly enhanced by the alterations but renovations cost money and that is something that is in short supply for the NMFMC (Noordhoek Masiphumelele Facilities Management Committee).

They have appealed to all the clubs using the facilities to contribute in whatever way they can to ensure that the renovations can be completed and we can all have a club house to be proud of.

Satori will be looking at some fund raising options but in the interim please read this letter that gives details of how you can help.

Races

Well done to all who finished the Peninsula marathon and half and especially to Andrea and Alex!

To all our supporters - here we are at 33km - thank you for all your wishes, your prayers and your help. This has been an awesome journey and we are thrilled to say that we have qualified for Two Oceans - our official time is 4:44:06. Well done Alex and well done Pauline.
